Tesla CEO Elon Musk had his first ever meeting with the Twitter employees ever since he made the bid to take over the micro-blogging site in a $44 billion deal. During the meeting with the employees, Musk shared his plans on how he wants to moderate content on Twitter.
Employees were asked to submit questions for Musk before the meeting. One of the employees asked Musk his views on content moderation. To which, he replied saying people should be able to “say pretty outrageous things within the law” but such outrageous things should not be amplified on the platform. Musk also said that the platform needs to be more like WeChat and TikTok it wants to achieve its goal of reaching one million customers.
"There's no WeChat equivalent outside of China. You basically live on WeChat in China. If we can recreate that with Twitter, we'll be a great success.I think Twitter can be much better at informing people of serious issues," he told Twitter staff during the meeting.
