Dog bites Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon’s face on Christmas
NY Post
Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon is in “good condition” after suffering “lacerations to his face and hand” from a dog bite on Christmas Day, the team announced Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Gordon “will remain away from the team while he recovers,” the Nuggets added in a statement, noting further updates will be issued as necessary.
A former first-round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Gordon began his career with the Magic before being traded to the Nuggets in March 2021.
He became a first-time NBA champion in June when Denver defeated the Heat in five games during the 2023 NBA Finals.
So far this season, Gordon is averaging 13.6 points per game, 6.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
He recorded 16 points in the Nuggets’ 120-114 win over the Warriors on Dec. 25, along with 10 rebounds and three assists.
The first day of the rest of Daniel Jones’ dwindling time with the Giants arrived Wednesday, with Jones in the building, in the meetings, on the practice field (although not doing very much) and not at all part of the game plan for the next game, relegated to a non-participant role for the remainder of the season.
