While petitions seeking the closure or shifting of Tasmac shops are regularly filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, the court on Thursday came across an unusual petition that sought a direction to the authorities not to shift a Tasmac shop. The court was hearing the petition filed by K. Karunanithi of Melur in Madurai district. He said that the people of Vellalur village in Melur were against the decision of the authorities to shift the Tasmac shop from the village to Thaniyamangalam village.
