Desi foodies ordered 115 chicken biryanis per minute in 2021

Swiggy’s sixth annual StatEATstics report stands testimony to every Indian’s love for biryani. The annual data showed that India ordered 115 biryanis per minute, i.e. 2 (1.91) biryanis per second.

While the debate over whether Chicken Biriyani is better than Vegetable Biryani (that’s even a thing?) is never-ending, there’s no denying the fact that we all love different versions of biryani. Hence, Swiggy’s sixth annual StatEATstics report stands testimony to every Indian’s love for the dish. The annual data showed that India ordered 115 biryanis per minute, i.e. 2 (1.91) biryanis per second.

Also, Chicken Biryani reigned the charts as it was ordered 4.3 times more than her humble vegetarian counterpart. Chicken Biryani topped the charts in Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Hyderabad.
