With the number of Covid-19 cases on a steep rise, the Delhi government imposed a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am. However, doctors seem to be split over the decision.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's decision to impose a night curfew in Delhi has drawn mixed reactions from medical professionals. The government, on Tuesday, said it was imposing a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am to combat the rise in new Covid-19 cases. The night curfew will remain in effect till April 30. However, doctors are split over the decision, with some applauding the night curfew, while others arguing it is only a secondary measure and that vaccination should be prioritised. Dr Sameer Gupta of the Metro Hospital said that people who visit crowded places in Delhi after work will stop mingling and cases could be controlled with the night curfew. "Only time will tell the outcome of the night curfew, but this had to be done as the number of cases was increasing every day. People must remember that the virus has not vanished and they should strictly follow the [Covid-19] protocols. Social distancing is very important as is wearing a mask and maintaining cleanliness. People who are above 45 must go and get their jab of Covid vaccine," he said.More Related News
