Cyclone Fengal: Power supply smooth so far, says T.N. Electricity Department

The electricity board has taken all the necessary precautionary measures, according to a statement. So far, there has been no big impact on power supply, and it has been smooth across the State, the statement added.
Due to the heavy rains and technical issues, power supply was affected in areas like Kilpauk, Avadi, Manali, Ponneri, Red Hills, and Kodambakkam, among others, and it was rectified, the statement said. The complaints received were addressed immediately, it added.
On November 29, 3,034 complaints were received and addressed. On Saturday, till 11 a.m., 799 complaints were received and resolved, the statement said.
Mr. Senthilbalaji has instructed that when the cyclone makes landfall, based on the requirements, power supply may be stopped.
Special teams have been formed in the affected districts, and 10,000 staff are prepared to handle the situation, the statement added.
The Minister has instructed for power supply to be restored on a priority basis to hospitals, telephone towers, banks, it added. Citizens are requested to contact 9498794987 for electricity-related complaints, the statement further said.
