'Congress does not speak a word when...' TMC's Madan Mitra

Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra on Monday slammed the Congress for failing to take a stand for the party when it was needed.
Trinamool leader Madan Mitra on Monday attacked the Congress and said that the party does not speak a word when TMC leaders are summoned.
Madan Mitra said, “It is unfortunate that when their leaders are summoned, Mamata Banerjee raises her voice, but when ED or CBI calls Anubrata Mandal or someone else from our party, no one speaks a word."
“It is their double standard. Mamata Banerjee has even wished for Sonia Gandhi's quick recovery [from Covid] and good health,” he said.
His remarks come after the TMC mouthpiece 'Jago Bangla' called Congress' actions hypocritical. The front-page headline in Jago Bangla read, 'Rahul gets summons by ED, Congress protests, Sonia lands in hospital’.
When asked if the article would have any impact on the presidential election, especially since Mamata Banerjee has reached out to various non-BJP leaders for a united candidate, he said no.
“It is not a question about a national or regional party. In 2019, Mamata Banerjee showed that she can bring the entire Opposition together to fight the BJP. She will do the same for the presidential elections,” he said.
