Chief Justice of India SA Bobde praised Goa's civil law system, saying the state followed the kind of Uniform Civil Code that was envisaged by the constitution framers. Speaking at the inauguration of the new high court building in Goa on Saturday, the CJI said, “Goa has what the constitutional framers envisaged for India- a Uniform Civil Code, and I have had the great privilege of administering justice under that code. It applies in marriage and successions, governing all Goans, irrespective of religious affiliation." On academic talk about the Uniform Civil Code, the CJI said, “I would request all those intellectuals to simply come here and watch the administration of justice to know what it turns out to be.”More Related News
