CBI arrests senior officer of Jammu passport office in bribery case

CBI has arrested a senior officer of the Jammu Regional Passport Office for taking a bribe of Rs 4,000 to issue a passport.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a senior officer of Jammu's Regional Passport Office in a bribery case, officials said. A case was registered by the CBI on a complaint alleging that Adarsh Kumar, senior passport assistant posted at Jammu's Regional Passport Office, has demanded a bribe for issuance of passport of the complainant. "It was alleged that the complainant had applied for issuance of passport in the month of January 2020 and contacted the Regional Passport Office, Jammu. It was further alleged that the complainant was informed that an FIR has been registered against him and due to this, issuance of passport was pending," said CBI spokesperson RC Joshi.More Related News
