Cardiac surgeon V.V. Bashi honoured with lifetime achievement award

Dr. V.V. Bashi, renowned cardiac surgeon, awarded lifetime achievement by IACTS for pioneering advancements in cardiovascular-thoracic surgery.
V.V. Bashi, director and senior consultant at the Institute of Cardiac and Advanced Aortic Diseases, SIMS Hospitals, Chennai, has been presented with a lifetime achievement award by the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS).
SIMS Hospitals, in a press release, said the recognition acknowledges his contributions, surgical excellence, and pioneering advancements in cardiovascular-thoracic surgery over the past four decades.
Dr. Bashi has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of cardiac surgery in India. He is widely regarded as a pioneer in aortic surgery, having performed the highest number of aortic procedures in India and is recognised as a leading expert in Southeast Asia, the release said.
Dr. Bashi said his passion had always been to push the boundaries of cardiac care and to make complex surgeries more accessible to patients in need. Ravi Pachamuthu, chairman of SIMS Hospitals,, lauded Dr. Bashi’s expertise, surgical precision, and pioneering contributions to cardiothoracic surgery.
