Body of 8-year-old girl found floating in Bihar's Saura river

An unidentified body of an eight-year-old girl was found floating in the Saura river in Bihar's Purnia district.
Purnia: The body of an eight-year-old girl was found floating near the banks of the Saura river in Bihar on Tuesday. Locals of nearby villages helped pull out the body after they spotted it early morning.
The incident took place around 04:00 am when locals gathered around the banks after retrieving the body from the river. The police arrived on the scene and sent the body for post-mortem.
Although the body had decomposed beyond recognition, locals said the unidentified body was not from any of the neighbouring villages.
The body of the girl has been kept at the Muffasil Police Station for identification. Further investigation is underway.
