A Bihar couple was seen begging for money to arrange for a Rs 50k ‘bribe’ to get their son’s body from a government hospital.
A video of a Bihar couple begging for money to pay a Rs 50,000 bribe to a government hospital to get their son’s body released went viral recently. An employee of the post-mortem department of the government hospital had allegedly asked for Rs 50,000 to release the youth’s body.
Samastipur civil surgeon Dr SK Chaudhary said, “The staffer may ask for money, but he cannot demand Rs 50,000.” However, the hospital worker has denied asking for money.
“There has been a history of asking for money in the past too. Strict action will be taken against the accused. We have formed a team to investigate the matter,” he said.
