Bidar school sedition case: Probe begins against police officers who questioned students

Nearly 18 months after Karnataka police personnel questioned students at a school in Bidar for staging a play against the CAA, the state government has told the high court that a departmental inquiry has been initiated against the policemen.
A police department inquiry has been initiated against policemen who questioned minor students at Shaheen school in Bidar district for staging a play against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in February last year, the Karnataka High Court was informed on Friday. A division bench headed by acting Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was informed that the matter would be probed by the Director-General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP). The government advocate submitted an affidavit before the court and said that the investigating officer was not wearing uniform at the time of questioning students.More Related News
