Army job seekers hold protests against Agnipath scheme across Odisha, vandalise public property

Hundreds of Army aspirants staged protests against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme in various parts of Odisha, including Cuttack. Some youths also vandalised public property.
Hundreds of youths took to the streets across Odisha to protest against the Modi government’s new short-term recruitment policy for the Armed forces, Agnipath, which was unveiled on Tuesday.
Army job seekers first assembled near the Mahanadi Bay and marched towards the Army Recruitment Office in Cuttack damaging public property on their way.

However, the security forces deployed at the venue blocked the rally midway and resorted to lathi-charge to bring the situation under control before detaining some protestors.
