Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 virus found in 73.5% of Odisha’s population, says survey

The survey, conducted in the State from August 29 to September 15, found that of the 5,796 samples, 4,247 were found to have antibodies against the virus.
A sero-survey conducted jointly by Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar, and State Health and Family Welfare Department has found the community’s SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence at 73.5% in Odisha.
It means close to three-fourth of the population surveyed in 12 districts has developed antibodies against the virus. The seroprevalence among healthcare workers is 93.5%.

A special team comprising 11 police personnel, including a few officers from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, conducted a probe at a private dairy unit in Dindigul in connection with the Tirumala laddu case on Saturday (November 23, 2024).
