APSSDC partners with SkillBee to provide German language training for nursing students, opening job opportunities in Europe.
The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) on Thursday (February 27, 2025) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SkillBee to provide training in the German language to nursing students in the State. SpellBee is an online platform that connects businesses with skilled labour in various industries.
The MoU, signed in the presence of Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) and IT Nara Lokesh, will enable Nursing students from the State to secure job opportunities in Germany and other European countries.
Minister Lokesh said there was a shortage of three lakh nursing candidates in Germany, especially in the elderly care sector and the local hospitals there. He said as part of this partnership, skill development training would be given in German language to nursing students, enabling them to secure job opportunities in Germany with attractive salaries.
SkillBee India Private Limited co-founder V. Ravichandra Gautam and CEO Ujwal Chauhan said their organisation had helped more than 10,000 candidates secure jobs abroad. They said SkillBee was one of the best international recruitment startups and was facilitating recruitment of candidates for countries such as Germany, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia and other Eastern European nations.
The collaboration with SkillBee would facilitate free German language training to nursing graduates with B.Sc Nursing, Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) or General Nursing and Midwifery specialisation and also assist them in finding placement opportunities.
The Minister said more than 4,000 nursing students from government and private nursing colleges in Visakhapatnam and nearby areas such as East Godavari, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam would be given training in German language as part of the initiative. “The idea is to address the issue of lack of German language skills among the aspiring candidates,” he said.
Chief Secretary, APSSDC Kona Shashidhar, Managing Director and CEO Ganesh Kumar, Executive Director Manohar were among those present at the meeting.
