Dairy brand Amul paid a heartfelt tribute to veteran actress Surekha Sikri who died on July 16 in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 75. In a post on social media, Amul shared a graphic and captioned it, “Tribute to three time National Film Award-winning actress Surekha Sikri.” The black and white graphic that Amul shared features animated sketches of iconic characters that Surekha Sikri played on screen. For example, her role of Dadisaa in the television series Balika Vadhu, as well as that of Durga Devi Kaushik in the 2018 hit film Badhaai Ho.
