Accused of favouring kin, Kerala minister KT Jaleel resigns after Lokayukta order

Kerala Higher Education minister KT Jaleel on Tuesday resigned from the Pinarayi Vijayan cabinet days after the state Lokayukta held that he had 'abused' his position as a public servant to obtain a favour for a relative.
Kerala Higher Education minister KT Jaleel resigned from his post on Tuesday. His resignation comes a day after the state Lokayukta submitted its report against KT Jaleel to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In its report, the Lokayukta alleged that KT Jaleel had 'abused' his position as a public servant to obtain a favour for a relative. KT Jaleel has submitted his resignation to CM Pinarayi Vijayan's office and it has been forwarded to Governor Arif Arif Mohammad Khan, however, the resignation is yet to be accepted.More Related News
