Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, slated to open in theatres on August 11. The film has piqued the curiosity of fans as it features Mr Perfectionist in a new avatar. Ahead of the movie's release, Aamir and Mona Singh visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Laal Singh Chaddha is a comedy drama, directed by Advait Chandran. It marks actor Atul Kulkarni's debut as a screenwriter.
Aamir Khan, last seen in the commercially unsuccessful Thugs of Hindostan, is set to return to the big screen with Laal Singh Chaddha. On August 10, a day before the film's release, the actor visited the Golden Temple with Mona Singh to seek blessings. This came shortly after the team received an overwhelming response from the Indian army after a special screening.
Laal Singh Chaddha has, meanwhile, garnered attention with its trailer and songs. It is an adaptation of the Tom Hanks-led classic Forrest Gump. Laal Singh Chaddha revolves around Aamir Khan's character, a simpleton who has a unique take on important events from India's past. It stars Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady. This is her third film with Aamir after 3 Idiots (2009) and Talaash (2012).
The cast includes Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, and Manav Vij. This marks Chay's Bollywood debut. Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi was originally supposed to enter the Hindi film industry with Laal Singh Chaddha but opted out as he wasn't able to adjust his dates. Following this, Naga Chaitanya was roped in to step into Makkal Seklvan's shoes. The character was tweaked to suit Chay's image.
Aamir recently hinted that Shah Rukh Khan has a cameo in the film.
Aamir Khan is yet to announce his next project. It has, however, been reported that he is planning to star in the Hindi remake of the Spanish comedy drama Campeones. He will reportedly be making a special appearance in the Revathy-directed Salaam Venky, starring Kajol
