‘Physical verification will be conducted by BLOs’
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday informed the Kerala High Court that the ECI had been able to identify only 38,586 demographically similar entries (DSEs) from 3,16,671 entries in the electoral rolls in the State after an intensive analysis of the data provided by the political parties regarding the multiple entries in the electoral roll. The ECI submitted that in respect of each 38,586 DSEs, physical verification would be conducted by the booth level officers (BLOs) and it would be marked in the ASD (Absentees, Shifted and Dead) list to be prepared by the BLO and such list would be furnished to the presiding offices along with the voters’ list to avert bogus voting.More Related News
